I thought he was decent on Thursday; better than Sushko. Vigneault, two times, has brought up that Sushko is 6-1, 200+ pounds with plus speed. So he obviously likes that.

The antiquated mind set. Didn’t Sushko play like 4 minutes? Kase played 11; more than the 4th line. Kase had pp time as well.

Geez, not the type of quote you want to hear from the head coach. Why is Morin in the lineup at all?

That would be great. Maybe the crappy ice will be an equalizer.

If we even get a point, it’s a huge victory in my view.

Obviously Hart will need to play well for us to have a chance, and I think he will. What really worries me is that of course somehow we are the road team and do not have last change. Wonder how the bruins got this advantage? Coin toss when the schedule was made I hope. I can envision their big line routinely out against our Third and fourth lines compromised of dmen playing wing. Dear lord.

Four games at Wells Fargo Center, three at TD. So the Bruins are the designated home team for the neutral site game.

Yes. I get that. But how do they determine who is the home team for a neutral site game like this when making the sched? Would they do a coin flip? It’s not your typical outdoor game where it’s in a stadium in the home teams city.

I wander over to Editor in lead to read some of the Toronto hysteria from time to time. Pretty ridiculous some of the stuff put out, the leafs play in probably the worst division in hockey at the moment, I can’t wait for them to lose in the first round of playoffs .

Agreed. They’re basically planning the parade. No one can stop Matthews but look at the competition ! Ottawa Vancouver and Calgary are a mess. As well, the team has no pressure on them. They’re basically guaranteed a playoff spot and possibly a semifinal spot if they can beat Montreal.

If the league hands out individual awards this year it’s a travesty

Flyers division has 5 very good teams.

Just read that AV is 3 and 0 in outdoor games. I feel better now. We’re a lock to win

Skill wise Flyers could definitely use him. I'm not sure he pays the right side though.

Brought him up a month ago, I like him as a fit. Without expansion it would be a go for me. I do think you could fit ghost into that trade, he is playing well enough to take as long as the other assets give the value the press are looking for. The part of the cost would be the assets needed to make sure SK passed on him in expansion. If you really believe in zamula, York etc then you don’t have to make this trade unless it makes you the cup favorite

100%, I stated earlier in the season that league awards would be idiotic this year. You’re playing against what, essentially 25% of the league. Matthews is incredible though, I had a stance of eichel was a better player but he’s certainly shut me up lol.

When do you honestly expect York and Zamula to make an impact on this team?

I think he’s fantastic tbh. Right up there with McDavid. Marner is also great. I don’t love nylander.

What I don’t think is that they can win a cup with basically one line. You can shut them down. D and goaltending win in the dance as you know. Andersen isn’t bad but the d still isn’t good enough.

They’re going to win 40 plus games this season and get beaten out of t he playoffs.

The idea that you can score 6 goals a game and win in the playoffs isn’t reality.

Guess that depends on one's definition of an impact. I think they can contribute sooner but a real impact, 2-3 years.

I think playing against lesser competition could hurt them once they get to the playoffs. I agree with you, we'll see if their defense can hold up.

The thing about Matthews is he generates a lot of shots but his shooting percentage is 24%. He's scoring on 1 out of 4 shots he takes. Unreal.

I was thinking more in the same sense as real impact players in 2-3 years. Ekholms deal is up after next year, I think he would be a great stop gap before hopefully one of those guys is ready to contribute consistently. Obviously expansion makes things trickier , but I would love to add him to the top 4 and just push all of these low pairing guys down a peg. Not sure what the cost would look like, I’d prefer it to be mostly picks, if they somehow would want a Hagg or something please take him with ya

I think he would be a really good add also but I think expansion makes it tough. It'll add to the cost of acquiring him when the Flyers lose a player they don't want to or have to compensate Seattle to keep a player they want. If you don't think it would elevate the team and give them a legit chance to win the Cup, they you shouldn't make it. Add a player for a cheaper cost as a rental if you can. The question is what does Fletcher think and is he mandated by management to do something.
